Leveling Up Family Fun: Game Night Ideas for Tweens and Parents!

The tween years are a critical time to bond with your child. As they transition from childhood to adolescence, finding activities that resonate with them can be challenging. Game nights, however, provide the perfect opportunity for quality family time and fun bonding experiences. Here are some exciting game night ideas that will level up the family fun for tweens and parents alike! Here are some of my family’s favorite activities for game night.

Popdarts

Popdarts is the next legendary dart game like you’ve never seen before. It’s a game that is fun for all ages and addicting to play! Similar to pointed-tip darts, your goal is to land your Popdart closest to the mark, and earn double points for a Wigglenobber- when one Popdarts lands on top of another. Popdarts are also fun for little ones to stick to windows, or make creations. Available on Amazon.

WHAT DO YOU MEME? Family Edition

What Do You Meme? Family Edition is a hilarious game, easy to learn, and fun for ages 8 and up! Everyone is dealt a hand of “captions”. An image is selected from the pile and you must select the funniest caption in your hand for the image. The group votes, and the player with the most votes wins the image. Whoever has the most images as the end is the winner. This is a great game to get the laughs rolling, but if you have a house full of boys like I do, be prepared for lots of poop and fart jokes! Available on Amazon.

Monopoly

Whether you’re playing the classic Monopoly board game, or the video game, this game gets the competitive juices flowing! Monopoly is a favorite in our family, and especially love playing on the Nintendo Switch and customizing our game with the rules we make up. Monopoly is not only fun, but it is engaging and does teach your tweens some money skills! Available on Amazon.

DIY Escape Room Challenge

Put your problem-solving skills to the test with a DIY escape room challenge. Create a series of puzzles, clues, and challenges that the family must solve together to “escape” within a set time limit. This interactive and immersive activity will promote teamwork and communication while offering a fun and challenging experience for everyone.

Trivia Night Extravaganza

Put your knowledge to the test with a trivia night extravaganza. Create trivia questions in various categories like pop culture, history, science, and more. Divide into teams and compete to see who can answer the most questions correctly. With a mix of easy and challenging questions, everyone will have a chance to shine during this exciting game night activity.
